With an in-house M&E design team, partnership civil design and a hands-on project management approach the Sigma Rail team have successfully delivered a range of requirements for Network Rail; some examples of projects our team have driven through to successful completion follow.

St Pancras Station Data Network.

During the challenging time leading up to the station delivery deadline, as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project, our team provided essential short term Technical Consultancy working under Optilan to assess and drive the Station Data Network covering LAN, WAN, CCTV, Telecoms, Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, Ticket Barrier and Station Information Display systems.

Barnham Signalling Centre.

Sigma took this project through from initial inception to turn-key completion delivering Project & Site Management, M&E Design, Sub-contractor Selection / Management, Customer Liaison working under BCM Construction Ltd. Our work included design and delivery of Domestic Electrical, CCTV, Access Control, Fire Systems, Air Conditioning, Heating, Internal & External Lighting. Subsequent works included the addition of a kitchen.

Portsmouth & Southsea Platform Extensions.

Our team provided both Project & Site Management to deliver the Portsmouth & Southsea platform extensions on time and budget. Additional supplementary lighting and electrical design works were carried out by our team. All works were carried out on behalf of the principle contractor.

Bognor Area Signalling Control Machine Room.

Further to the installation of Air Conditioning Network Rail requested supplementary temperature monitoring of the signal control, main equipment and battery rooms. This system was integrated into the signallers main panel to ensure 24/7 monitoring and reporting of temperature fault conditions could be achieved. Sigma Rail selected and managed the sub-contractor then site managed the delivery through to successful hand back.

Basingstoke Area Infrastructure Upgrade Project.

Sigma Rail operating under BCM Construction and Atkins providing a team of project managers and subcontracting a number of staff facilitating both construction site and possession management. These works consisted of general rail side civil construction plus route and cable works.

Westinghouse "Distance To Go" Radio System - Underground Rolling Stock Project Development.

Operating in partnership with JEL under Tyco Integrated Systems our team provided essential  Technical Consultancy and project support to drive the Distance To Go Radio systems to support the supplementary train radio based protection systems as shown in this high level plan.
